Finding Our Place

I am by no means an expert in the field of Psychology. However, lately I have been greatly intrigued by the subject, specifically different personality types. Often times I find myself wondering my place in this world. What did God put me, particularly, on earth for? Why did he make me so different from everyone else? Why are we all here, or better yet why is anyone here?

I know that we are who we are based on past experiences and the ways in which we were brought up, but I also believe that the main reason we are a certain way is because God wanted us to be this way for a reason.

By doing some research online, I discovered the Jung and Briggs Myers Personality Test. I took the test and found that I am an INFJ (introversion, intuition, feeling, judging). This test has proved to be incredibly accurate; mind you I have also taken the test several times just to validate its authenticity to myself ;)

Being that there are sixteen different personality types just shows the huge diversity of the human race. Think about it. Within these sixteen different types we could probably get even more complex and subdivide them again into sixteen more, again into sixteen more, and again into sixteen more. You get the picture.

Variety truly is the spice of life. :-)

What an awesome God we have to mold each person he puts onto earth so differently. Right now there are approximately 6,697,254,041 people on this earth, and each one was made entirely different by our Creator! Stop and think about how amazing that is! Each person before us and each person after us is just as different as well.

He wouldn’t have made us so different, if He didn’t really want us to be this way.

I think of it this way: We are all just one big puzzle and each personality type has a role. Without one of those types, something is missing. The world would not function correctly if one type was out of the picture. Therefore, we should love everyone for who they are, because we all contribute something different to our world.

Lately, I have been feeling like many people look at these differences and see them as a curse. Seems like everyone these days wants others to think the way they think and believe the things that they believe. I wish I could tell everyone I know to look at these differences and see how beautiful and what a blessing they truly are. Yes each person has faults, or negative aspects to their personality, yet each person is also given special gifts. Lately, when I have noticed not so desirable traits in a person, I have tried to look past those qualities and see the good in that person, because EVERYONE has something good to offer. If you take a little time to take this personality test, you will see the positive traits and strengths that YOU have. Here is an overview of my type: http://www.personalitypage.com/INFJ.html.

When I am feeling down and like I have no positive characteristics to myself, I look over this website and see what my personal strengths are.

I just want to say to anyone who has ever felt alone, different, or like they have nothing to offer: You do! Everyone does, they just have to find it within themselves. :)
